Might it be a pin version of the Windhund traditions badge? There appears to be a wavy portion beneath the upper part.

That's also what I'm seeing. I haven't been able find any matches with any Luftwaffe unit emblems yet.

Could this badge have something to do with Scandinavian roots?

a Viking longship could ever get there but well, maybe it's a mythical animal .... I found on the internet and nothing like them and some looked through books but found nothing about it

It seems to be the squadron marking for LTS 222.
