Hello Peter,

Very nice picture. Looks like a Bf 110D-2, long-range destroyer, fitted with two 66 imperial gallon drop tanks and an ETC 500 bomb rack. Despite the wasp insignia, I think this aircraft may actually be from II./SKG 210 rather than ZG 1 "Wespe". It would be interesting to research this photo. Is there a date or any other writing on the back of the photo?

No, it's the plane of DKiG-holder Wilhelm Opitz. Nice to see, he is wearing his front-flying-clasp upside-down. A common usus for Zerstörer-crews...

Okay then! So apparently from II. Gruppe 4. Staffel of ZG 1 "Wespe". This unit was reformed from II Gruppe 4. Staffel of SKG 210 on January 4, 1942. Do you have any other pictures of this aircraft?
