    nice SS Panzer photo, real?

    Hi,

I bought this at a German forum as a guaranteed original, in hand I´m not sure about it.
Would the experied photo experts take a look on, please.

It does not look very shard, not really dot pixels, but a bit strange under the lense.

It is around 13 x 18 cm, no markings on the back.

    Thanks for comments!

Are these scratches on the surface of the paper ?

If they are not on the surface of the picture then it could just be a print from a dusty negative that wasn't kept very well.

There is a lot of grain in the image, like what you would see with shooting on High ISO film (like say 400 speed). I wouldn't normally expect to see that with period prints from WW2. You might also see that grain with a darkroom enlargment of a photo to focus on one section & crop out the rest.

Overall I am not sure about this one & look forward to others' opinions. Personally I would examine the surface of the photo against the light reflection to see if the surface looks new, or slightly pitted & aged. Also the back of the paper can help but on it's own that usually isn't definitive.
