    Der Deutsche in Schweden

Found these magzines in a pile of books I bought some weeks ago, apparently there where alot of German organisations working in Sweden during the war.

And could someone also explain why the most of the soldiers haver German names but have Swedish cities mentioned in their obituarys?

My guess is they where living here in Sweden when the war broke out and joined the german army?

    Thanks

    /Bjorn

        Auslandsdeutsche

Good find, I have several prewar issues. The soldiers are German citizens that were born or lived in Sweden prior to being drafted. There is a book in Swedish that explains more about this newspaper, the previous book by Birgitta Almgren. Title is something with Norden. Cheers, Lars

Thanks for the info Lars, these seems to be pretty rare I cant find much about them when I tried to search. I'll sure look into the Birgitta Almgren book.

          All the best
