      Here are a couple more period photo postcards of Endrass and Prien.

      Looking at these images it certainly suggests that Prof.Graf did make some.or all of his portraits from existing photographic material.

          Hi Martin, thank you very much for showing these wonderful postcards. I would certainly agree that most, if not all, of the paintings were done from portrait photos and to have some of those photos also to display with the paintings, just makes it all complete ... thanks again for showing them.               Thanks for the link Jeremy.

              I now have 15 of the 18.

              I will not buy the entire set but hope that the individual cards i need will show up sooner or later.

              Actually 400 euro is not a bad starting price for this set.Individual cards usually sell for about $40-$50 a piece.
