Postcards of paintings by Prof. Graf - Kriegsmarine KC Winners series

I do not think that I have seen any examples of this series before. I only have this one, rather damaged, postcard with Guenther Prien ... however, I am sure that others will have more cards. Would you please any other cards of this series that you may have?

    Cheers, Torsten.

Some of these poses are very recognizable, from photographs.

It could be that Graf painted them all from photos, rather than personal sittings.
In any event, I find them very appealing- definitely well above your average war artist.

Prof. Graf was a great war artist. Also painting from luftwaffe aces von Richthofen and Immelmann and other WK I.

I totally agree with you Randy.

I also think these portraits by Prof.Graf were painted from existing period portrait photographs of the RK tragers.

here is a photo portrait i have of Werner Tonniges along with the Graf portrait.

The Endrass and Ketschmer portraits are very similar, posewise to period portrait photo postcards that i have seen.

                              Regards,Martin.
