I got this French language version of the Deutschland photobook, which was publiched in 1936 for visitors to Berlin for the Olympic Games. Very nice books, etc., which I know were published in a number of different languages. What I was wondering is, who got these and how were they given out? Did people have to buy them at stalls and bookstores or were they just given to foreign athletes and staff visiting Germany for the Olympics or were they for anyone and everyone and where were they handed out, if they were for free? At the olympic venues or at the tourist offices or at the borders??
Not sure if anyone knows answers to the above questions, but maybe the little french language card de visite that is with my book gives a clue to someone?
Cheers, Torsten.
