        It is my undertsanding that the badge is an officer cap badge for civilian technical/supply/equipment/test personal (Generallftzeugmeister).
        Only officers caps were noted.
        Seems that hand-embroidered cogwheel.
        To be noted, many caps seems to be around while no photographs of such visor cap worn have been fond.

              General Luftzeugmeister. ( Civil Technicians )

              Cogwheel is called '" GL-industrie-Abzeichen "

              The badge could be worn on both sides of the jacket .

                    Rick ,this is all I could find ;

                    Personnel of the chief of supply and procurement service .
                    -------------------------------------------------------
                    Civil technicians of the General luftzeugmeister were assigned largely as
                    controllers , etc., of armament factories in the Reich and in the occupied countries.
                    no regulations have been encountered ,thus information is restricted to the rare items observed or from period photos.
                    Insignia for the GL , termed GL-industrie-Abzeichen ( GL-Industrial Insignia ) was introduced by a order ( LV 41 , no.661 ) dated 27 May 1941.

                        Generalluftzeugmeister personnel were civilian technicians whose specialties in maintenance and supply. The Generalluftzeugmeister was authorized to send them to occupied countries on special assignments where their skills were required. Those civilians already stationed outside the reich were also under his supervision.
