Well I am not big on it either as a LT as the 'G-2' of the 7th Army??
Maybe G-2-2-3-10 or alike. I can't find his name in a 7th army roll as well. Perhaps some-one has the Officer's list from that time handy

@Myky and Max History: The 'wikipedia' screenshot Myky posted is a wiki site based on an online game called 'NationStates' and therefore has nothing to do with our country's history.

I sure would love to be able to speak Chinese (Mandarin) though.

Thanks for the correction. I was under the mistaken impression that Neederland was an area similar to the British area of Wessex, i.e. one that is well known, but does not actually exist any more.
The most interesting point raised here for me is the double runic SS symbol in the large type print. Years ago I was in touch with one of Hitler's secretaries. She told me that the so-called "Führer typewriter" did not have the runic key, yet it is evident on the copies posted by uscha. She also told me that no Hitler stationery had the eagle and swastika blind embossed at the top of the page. All authentic examples were either gold block print or black high quality print.
I'm interested to know the source of the copies posted by uscha.
          Max.

The date on the top of the veteran's letter foxes me.

The format is the European style:

              6 July 1945

Rather than the US style, which would be more appropriate for a US citizen:

              July 6 1945

It's a small point and not conclusive by any means, but there you go.

              Chris

Well LT Henry Gellerman does not show up on any of the public DB that I know of.

Enlistment. enticement and DVA all come up empty. At least the APO is correct

Hmm in this case, a lot of dutch waffen ss volunteers who served in this division wore the wrongly spelled "nederland" cufftitle.

Is there perhaps someone who has a "Liebstandarte" formation document to compare?

                  Regards

i dont think that the cufftitle was made for the division.when you see my post 13 they will make a division"neederland" but for the first only 2 regiments not a complete division.some month later they gives the order to build a ss-freiw.panz.gren.brigade"nederland"and cancel the order to build a division.until begin of 1945 the brigade was changed the name to:23.ss-frw.pz.gren.div."nederland.
                    regards

                        Here is the "Charlemagne" document.

All these documents looks very close… I find it very stange.
