Thank you very much for your response and helpful feedback, Hank, especially for the links to the Lexikon der Wehrmacht of which I was unaware. I will use it in the future.

Normally I do research my items to the best of my ability before I post requesting assistance. I came to this Forum and specific thread because that is what it presents itself as offering..."requests for signature identification help".

Using the link you suggested, I have been able to correctly identify the signature of Generaladmiral Boehm on the KVK 2nd Class document; and on the KVK 1st Class document I now know that MPA = Marinepersonalamt (in this case at the OKM in Berlin). I have not, however, been able to identify the signature of the Kapitaen on that document.

On the Sturmabzeichen document, I believe this to be the signature of Freiherr von Boineburg who was indeed Commander of the 23rd Panzer Division in June 1942 when the document was signed.

I look forward to any further input and helpful feedback on the KVK 1st Class and Wound badge document signatures.

    John

I have posed this question before with as yet no definitive answer for the signatory on this document:

I have found out that the Stuka Stabsstaffeln from 1941 on were more often than not led by the Ia or the Adjutant assigned to the Geschwaderstab as sort of an additional duty. Also, their title more often than not was Staffelführer rather than Staffelkapitän. Here are three Hauptleute who were either Ia or Adj. in the Geschwaderstab in August 1941:

              Hptm. Heinrich Fahrenberg
              Hptm. Erich Müller
              Hptm. Lothar Schimitschek

However, I am to be convinced that the signature shown is any of these men.

Can anyone help and thereby nail this one down?

              Regards Richard.

Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

                  ID on SS Signature Alpenland

Hi All, received a book through one of my uncles in Styria Austria, titled 'goethe und die generale''. On the front inside cover a printed sheet was stuck in with words from SS Gruppen Fuhrer for Alpenland and dated Salzburg 1943. There is also a signature in Blue pen. Now i know Rösener was head of this during that time but not sure if this is actually his signature ??? I dont collect signatures so know very little.

I did look under the microscope and it looks penned and not autopenned ( i think), No tunnels, no start and stop dots and not even throughout.

Looking at old germanic script it doesnt look like Rösener but then again i have no idea and it might be ( The cursive loopy letter at the beginning might be his First name Initial E and the big loop around might be the capital R. But this is when i quit since i was starting to take flying leaps and think this is probably one of his assitants in the office signing on his behalf. Well your opnions would be valued

I can see 'Alberti' in that signature and there are two such Dr's listed in the Führerliste. One is ruled out as he only held the rank of SS-Untersturmführer in 1945 but the other one is Dr Peter Alberti who held the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer in June 1943 (so possibly promoted in between the date shown in the image and June '43) and was serving with San.Abt. 52 at that time.

Having seen the item on another forum, the signature is similar to Erwin Rösener.
