Hello,
I want to show You a grouping of a well decorated 2nd Lieutenant of Infanterie-Regiment 58, 6. Infanterie-Division.
He was with this Regiment from late 1939 until summer 1944. I will try to research what then happened to him. In the grouping there is a letter in which he stated that he fought on 16. April 1945 in Bergisch-Born, in the vicinity of Remscheid.
I also got the information, that he was seriously wounded in that time (shot in the lower jaw, under one ear in and under the other out...).
Maybe some of You know which U.S., British or German troops were fighting in April in that area?
He received the IC II, IAB silver, BWB, SWB, East Medal, CCC bronce, IC I, CCC silver.
Just have a look at the uncommon award document for the CCC bronce, unfortunately the documents for the IAB and the CCC silver are missing.
