Rick, any photos from award ceremonies to this man? I'm always interested in seeing award ceremonies.

Cheers

Angel
Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

Dear Rick, 12 Panzer, my envy! I have a good photo album from 2.Infanterie-Division, but the album does not reach Russia...

12.Panzer fought in Wolchow (lots of photos in Kesselschlacht Wolchow by Herrn Gundlach, Bildberichters of 291.Division), where my interest lies. Any photos from this period? 12.Panzer absorbed tanks from Panzer-Abteilung z.b.V.66, so there were rarities like VK 18.01 and VK 16.01. One of the most interesting Panzer unit to me.

Here is a couple of documents presented to an officer of 122.Infanterie-Division by officers from 12.Panzer-Division (note the divisional insignia and signatures).

Hi Akira

Sorry, no photos of Wolchow that I could find. The entries regarding Russia (or thereabouts) include St. Petersburg, Minsk, Bialistok, Witebsk- Smolensk, Nowgorod, Wobj (?), Zasslaw, Mischkino, Tichwin, Tschudowo, and Narwa - in that order. Where did Wolchow fit in?

Also, there are few pictures of Panzers as he concentrated more on his own Kompanie.

Regards,
Rick

P.S. It also came with a broken Infantry Assault Badge and the shell splinter which did the damage. "Good for one free Wound Badge!"

>Mischkino, Tichwin, Tschudowo

These are Wolchow towns, 50km-100km east/southeast of St. Petersburg.

As always THE incredible town-search service is helpful, http://www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm

>Also, there are few pictures of Panzers as he concentrated more >on his own Kompanie.

So we can recreate those Landser's life in our mind... at least partly, at least the comradeship...
