Here is a nice new 12 Pz Div Group to a man in 7./5 Shutzen Rgt.
(the photo we have been looking at with the Cholm Sheild is from this group)
He was with the Division from appx. 1938, back when it was the 2 Inf Div. The group has three of his photo albums with meticulous captions throughout. Great photos of Poland, France, Russia tohis time as a POW in England.
There are several very interesting letters sent to his wife (sent in response to her inquiries as to his whereabouts) that indicate that he was assigned to a Kampfgruppe fighting southeast of Rouen and was captured by British forces around the end of August of 1944. Anyone know what Kampfgruppe this might be?
Interesting pics of his repaired Ek1 can be found on the Iron Cross Fourm.
