KVK2 Urkunde signed by Commanding Admiral Norway

Hi Everybody,

I recently picked this Urkunde to the KVK2 Mit Schwerten. It is signed (and looks original to me) by the Commanding Admiral of Norway, and dated 30 Jan. 43. However, when I tried to research this on the web I couldn't find a name of a Commanding Admiral (Norway) that matched the signature.

Any ideas? Also, what would Schr. stand for? Something, Ober Gefreiter. If it was Sch. then it would be School but Schr?

Hello Toby,

I can not tell you what "Schr." means, but I think I can tell you why you don´t find a signuature that maches of the one on the Doc.

Under the sig. you can read "I.V.", what means "by proxy" / "on behalf of", what means the sig. is not from the Admiral himself.

The sig is that of Otto von Schrader, Commanding Admiral of the Norwegian West Coast and based at Bergen. Obviously he was filling in for Böhme at the time.

A Schreiber would be a clerk or admin man.

I thought Simon might know whose signature it was.

And of course, Schreiber, from schreiben. Seems obvious now - doh!
