    Kodak Photos Help Please

    Folks,
Tomorrow I`ll be going to look at some old WW2 photos which were supposed to have been taken in Germany during the war. The person that has these photos said that some have the Kodak mark on the back. Is this possible? Were the Germans using Kodak film? Thanks for any help

Kodak colour film was used and apparently paper as well. Have a look at the following site www.kriegsberichter.de
    for more info.

Hello, yes Eastman Kodak was a US founded company. Kodak paper and cameras were used in Germany, but obviously not as commonly as the US. But...There was a "Kodak-AG" camera factory in Stuttgart in 1931, which replaced the old factory "August Nagel-werke", and used Dr. Nagel as designer in the new Kodak factory.

I personally have seen 2 or 3 different types of Kodak markings on German ww2 portraits. All being on postcard sized paper tho If I remember correctly. So to answer your question, yeah I would say its okay to see Kodak paper in use.

Here is a neat little article of modern controversy about Kodak and the Nazis....

Remy you're correct the link doesn't work at the moment. If you use you're browser and type "original photo+kriegsberichter" the site turns up on the first page and you can access it okay from there.
