            image no 5

No expert on the German language, but as far as I can make out, the type written letter states that Iwand's orphaned children will receive 5000 RM "from the personal funds of the Führer"

It appears that there are documents, letters on two separate RKT's....Oberst Fritz Iwand and pages 3/4 documents, a letter and forwarding note from a Major to the widow from the head Doctor on Major Dietmar Wahl who died of his wounds in a Kriegslazarett and was buried with full honors in a Military Cemetary in Russia with a Kriegspfarrer in attendence. Very Interesting history of two highly decorated Officers.

Looks like a large part of his Personalakten (personnel file). As far as I know, these should not be in private hands. Anyone who has researched German Heer officers at NARA or Bundesarchiv would be familiar with these types of documents.

Personally, I would be wary as these could be stolen documents. Lots of stuff has been taken from Bundesarchiv over the years. If this file appears in NARA microfilm (meaning it was captured at the end of the war by US forces, taken back to the States, microfilmed, and returned to Germany in the 1960-1970s), then it is highly likely to have been stolen from BA.

Are there any other explanations as to how this Personalakten could have ended up in private hands?
