      Dear Gran,

Are you identifying the person wearing the KC on the left as Werner Mölders? He doesn't look like Mölders to me...

The man in the middle is Oskar-Heinz "Pritzl" Bär.

The face of the man on the left is familiar, but it is not Mölders. I don't have my references close by to ID him.

              P.S. Maybe Karl Nordmann

Sorry Gran, but I just don't see what you see here! All of the other pix you've posted are certainly of Mölders; he had a very recognizable face, especially the prominent nose, but the person on the left of your initial photo does not look like Mölders to me.

Here's a way to make certain, though my eyes are not good enough to see the level of detail in your original photo. Looking at your original photo, if Heinz Bär (the central figure at the table) is wearing the KC w/Oakleaves AND SWORDS then that would mean that the photo was taken AFTER he received the Swords on February 16, 1942. Since Werner Mölders died in a plane crash on November 22, 1941 he obviously could not have been present for this photo...except in spirit, of course!

                  Hope this is helpful,

The RK winner on the left looks very much like Theodor Weissenberger but since he served most of the war with JG 5 in Norway, I don't know why he would be photographed in the company of JG 51 personnel (Mölders and Bär).

                        Unknown KC Holder

                        Hi,

the other guy with the KC beside Heinz Baer on this photo is Franz-Josef Beerenbrock, JG 51, 117 victories, last rank lieutenant, reciepient of the KC and OL, POW in November 1942.

                        Regards

                          OL Holder in Leroy's post

I forgot: The OL-Holder on Leroy's photo shows LtCol. Karlfried Nordmann as Kommodore JG 51. By the way: Beerenbrock served as his wingman.

                          Regards
