Der Hauptmann von Köpenick (The Captain from Köpenick). A true historical event that so impressed the Kaiser he pardoned the good Captain two years into his jail sentence. See either of the two movies if possible, though the 1931 film is better than the 1956 version, IMHO. Highly recommended!
