EK2 Document "Reichsgrenadier-Division Hoch- und Deutschmeister"

Hello guys,

got this EK2 document yesterday and I think such one can not often be found.

Can anybody tell me if the EK2 was awarded during action at "Reinhard-Linie", "Gustav-Stellung" or Cassino?

Can't find exact dates for these combats.

What you read on the document is not the date of the action that brought to the bestowal of the decoration. It's just the day when the document was signed. The action took place some weeks or even some months before!
Unfortunately it's very hard to say from the award document only in which combat action a soldier deserved the decoration.

Yes, of course I know that this is only the date the document was signed.

But I think it could not be much more than 2 weeks from the action the EK was awarded for to the day it was given to the soldier and the document was signed. Remember that the Division awarded an EK2 and that should have not taken very long.

Hi Joerg. I would agree with you that this was probably awarded for the fighting just before the Cassino battles. Probably the Bernhardt/Reinhard Line.

That is a very nice award document!!
