Alot of items were made by the POW's during their time in the Camps and those Sandals were most likely one of them.
Here are some more POW pics out of my collection. #1 German POW's probably medics working out of (as written on reverse) Lazarette Bari..98th Gen Hosp 16.5.46
Notice some of them are also wearing handmade sandals
