It's been awhile since I picked up any POW pics. I have two new arrivals of German POWs out of Depot PG #105 Strasbourg, France. It appears that many of these POW were used to collect munitions off the Battlefields in the Alsace-Lorraine area
Here a Russian photo taken in Berlin showing what looks like a mixed group of German POW's consisting of regular Wehrmacht soldiers and at least 10 men wearing only civilian clothes suggesting they are Berlin Volkssturm.
Photos of Berlin VS in considerable numbers during or just after the battle for the city are difficult to find.
This photo was taken when those men just passed the OberbaumbrĂ¼cke on their march towards the east.
The truck is US-made, used by the Red Army.
Peter...Thanks for sharing that photo with us! Most photos taken were done by the Russian Propaganda Units so rarely do you ever see privately taken photos by the Russian soldiers themselves.

I do not know if this picture is already in this excellent thread, but I stumbled across this LIFE pic of captured young Landsers with their American captors in Normandy.
The faces say it all....
notice the absence of any decorations? looks like that they were recently thrown into the Frey?
