Hi all:
I hope this is the appropriate place to ask a question about a rather ODD
map I've had for a long time. First of all, it's not a printed battle map but instead appears to have been produced by a photostatic process. Did the Germans even have that capability during WW2?? I'm attaching pics of the SS Unit markings ( 2. Pz SS) as well as other Unit markings. Are these legit (a period map) and if so, what do the markings mean? -Especially those in green pencil?? I assume that the mark ' 2. Gb. Dn.' (near CRAIOVA) refers to the 2nd Gebirgsjager Div.
Any light you can shed on this piece would be much appreciated.
