    Kriegsmarine captured Maps.

I have here A map of the western coast of France.

It has a fair amount of providence due to the fact I dug though a practical mountain of others to find something western Europe and bought it for 7$

Story goes a nearby universities cartography inventory was cleared and a ton of these landed in the trash, most were de nazified with square purple ink.

It has the stamps "Please return to cartographic section" and "Library of Congress Transfer 103 Apr 1947 Division of maps.

I'll post other pics but mostly I'm wondering if anything really significant ever happened in this area during the war.

    Any Input?

Well always collectable by someone, I am sure kartengruppe.it has sent you a PM about them already

What fans and others are after are period annotated maps (mine lanes drawn in, notes by ships officers etc) those are fun to have.

If they where in a Cart-library chances are they where clean and neat as that would be the mandate of the library

But nice to see them surface again as many of the lesser ones (like you say places where nothing happened) have disappeared by now.
