any thoughts on who this chap is?

Hello All, this pic came in a small lot consisting of GD regimant photos. I don't see a cuff title but he is in a few of the pics in this lot. I know without any higher awards it might be impossible but looking at this fellows ribbon bar and other awards he defintely might have won higher as the war progressed and therefore someone might know him. Thanks Again. Mike

He seems to wear a HJ pin and a party badge.

Yes - an unusual picture of von Schirach before he was commissioned. Several of the 'younger' Nazi big-wigs did military service early in the war to 'legitimise' themselves. Heydrich.....Hanke......Axmann...etc. You could be head of the Hitler Youth one day, an army private the next, and Gauleiter of Vienna the next. And the EK2 ribbon went very well with NSDAP uniform.

Gosh...I was so busy looking at the awards I didnt see who it was. He has very distinctive features i think.....and of course both awards would be in gold given his position in the NSDAP.

                  Hello Rob,

                  Yes, vSchirach. Good eye!

                  Michael,

Schirach did his front service in France during 1940 with the GD. Another nice photo from your group.

                  Regards
