While the first photo has an overall natural feel to it, the second shot is one heck of a stiff, awkward, uncomfortably posed photo...

I think that it's just the moment of going from a saluting stance to giving a firm handshake that gives this soldier a stiff look.
Aside from that, nervousness could also be part of the awkward look.

I would be nervous too if i was about to shake Dietrich's hand.

IMO: photos are fakes.

The main purpose of this thread is the visual aspect of the photos themselves, not to debate their originality (although I agree - both photos are unquestionably 101% post-war in origin).

That said, cruising around a little more, I found a few more photos from this "series". The following 3 photos are post-war reproductions and are clearly labled as such by the seller (a small miracle alone in todays world).
