I got these in a group of photos (from and SS Pz Gren) that I recently got. The pictures could be sharper but are typical later war photos.

(IMHO) I dont think the writing on the back of one of the photos was written by anyone of that period, or anyone who took the photos. The writing style is again (IMO) post war era, 1960's. NO one would abreviate Sturmbannfuhrer the way that it is done in the photo.
Great, Great photo though!! Szorzeny has always been my favorite charachter among the bunch. You lucky to have these! Where did you say you found them?

I agree with you that the scripting was probably later added. They came together with a group of Pz Grendadier photos which I got (they wear Hohenstaufen cuff titles in the photos where visible) and I have to assume that the soldier got these through some other source as the photo size is also different but it is good period paper.Comment
