Interesting to see an unnumbered (originally but later renamed to II.) SS Panzerkorps stamp on the documents!

Rare to see a Hans Weiss signature (RK and DK).

                          Upon reading LdW,

This is apparently incorrect considering that I.SS-Panzer-Korps was established in July 27, 1943 ( http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...ISSPzKorps.htm ), it should be what stamp say - schwere SS-Panzer-Abteilung General-Kommando SS-Panzer-Korps (sans I.). And they continued to use the stamp for quite some time after the name change took place!

Great documents and I envy you, the harsh Hill 112 fighting that was narrated in Kleine & Kühn left a great impression in my young memory.

                            Jim-

Very nice schwere-Kompanie/SS.Pz.Rgt.2 then s.SS.Pz.Abt.102 document grouping - Congrats. The promotion doc is hand signed by SS-Obersturmführer Alois Kalls.

Not really, as "Kursk" (that is, the German offensive phase of Operation Citadel) had already been canceled and schwere-Kompanie/SS-Pz.Rgt.2 pulled off the line as of 16 -17 July 1943 - three days before Gerstädt was wounded. On 20 July 1943 s./SS-Pz.Rgt.2 entrained at Sslawjansk (Slovyansk) - over 100 miles from Kursk - and began a several-day-long rail transport, eventually arriving at Barwenkowo where they de-trained on 26 July.

Jim - according to the date on the document, Gerstädt was wounded during one of several Soviet air attacks either at the assembly area, or while moving to/entriaing at Sslawjansk on 20.July 1943.

Again, great set of documents to a very seldom-seen SS Tiger unit! Thanks for sharing them with us.

thanks guys for helping "fill in the pieces of the puzzle" which is often the case when the documentation is somewhat limited, but I was still happy to get this one.
