    regiment, etc .. research question

    Hello,


    can somebody help me regarding a litle research => im looking for information on the Art.Regt. 183 .

    Where did they serve during the summer months of 1943 ? , to wich division where they attached ? , who was the division commander, etc ...

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

    AR.183

    David,

    AR.183 was subordinated to the 83rd Infantry Division. The division was on the Newel sector in Army Group centre throughout 1943.

    April-June: VI Korps, 3.Pz.Armee
    July: At disposal Army Group Centre
    Aug-Sep: XXXXIII Korps, 3. Pz. Armee

    Divisional Commander: Generalleutnant Theodor Scherer.

      Hi Stijn,
      Art.Rgt. 183 belonged to 83 Inf.Div. and summer 43 were in the area of Newel (Hgr. Mitte). Div.Kdr. was Generalleutnant Theodor Scherer EL (from Cholm fame!)...

            Hello,


            Thank you for the help in this case, everything matches => there is a signature of Theodor Scherer on the award documents.

            And yes Ian you are correct => this is the regiment to witch the dual award of the iron crosses are ( both ek 1 and ek2 on the same day !!!!! )
