Unusual SS-cap

Servus,

I saw this photo in the "for sale" section (I hope the seller does not mind) and I want to know what kind of SS-cap it is. Is this an early form of the kepi-hat? I have never seen this before.

It looks almost like a Crusher or some sort, perhaps the only black cap he could find before he could afford a new one with the introduction of the different colour. Who knows.

Thank you for the comment. I have seen this cap before in photos and I do believe that it is an official issue... perhaps a predecessor of the kepi? They do have SS-belt-buckles and some interesting collar tabs...
