Non-matching waffenfarbe on litzen and eppaulettes? Seems to be pionier black on the eppaulettes, seeing the guy's age perhaps a bau-pionier?

Chris, You were close, but it's the rare Flowers and Roses Pattern.
The soldier at the left is wearing his fieldgendarmerie gorget under the smock

            Back to Rick's puzzle.
Is it just the light or is he wearing two different collar tabs ? The right one appears to have a darker middle bar as the left one.

Is it a post war photo as his eagle seems to have been denazified??
                Regards

Might be the shadow, but it looks like one of the buttons on his tunic is darker than the others. (Second one from the bottom.)

I don't know though. I've still got afterimages from the pattern on the dress etched into my retinas... Hard to see much else...

I know squat about variations of tunics but . . .

                        1. Shoulderboards look to be upside down.

                        2. Near the end of his right shoulderboard there is a gap that doesn't look right.

                        3. The swaz is definitely there.

                        4. Where is his belt?

                        5. The trou look to be a darker color than the rest of the tunic.

                        6. I dunno

                          People, people...

                          2) His M1943 tunic has scalloped flaps on his unpleated pockets.

                          3) He is wearing dark green shoulder straps when regulations for this pattern tunic required tunic color ones.

PS, his wife's dress pattern first appeared in the August, 1952 McCall's Magazine! ...

                          not!
