    SS-Leibstandarte card

    Hello guys,
could anyone tell me which is the SS-LSAH unit whose rubber stamp is on this card?
What does it mean "VM./" before Leibstandarte?
    Thanks in advance
    Val

Seeing as this is a Berlin photo postcard from the western districts of town (where the Olympic Games had been held and the location of Lichterfelde-West), I'm guessing that the postmark "Wa" might be the beginning of "Wanssee", site of the infamous 1942 conference.

It could also be the beginning of Waffen-SS, but what would a Waffen-SS postmark be doing in Berlin?

Looking at the card with more attention I saw the pencil writing near the sender address, which tells "SRD" and "Streifen Dienst SS". I suppose the the sender was a young HJ member of SRD in training at the Leibstandarte Kaserne. How about that?

Would Hitler Youth have free Feldpost privileges?

By the way, I suspect the penciled SS AH just above the purple SS Feldpost marking, is a postwar note by somebody who owned the card or was selling it.

This postcard was sent to Trauenstein, Upper Bavaria (OBB).
