    Wiking Photolot

Just got my hands today on this from an Ex Wiking man. Postwar papers etc, Rings, lighter ,Postcards Ss Kaserne,Ek etc. Of course that don´t fit in this section. What fits is a lot of Wiking phothographs from Russia what came with it.( I need to count but i stopped at 150). Pics also of Diekmann and and and(I need time to have a closer look) Then i saw some postwar prints and i asked the owner if he´d have anything else. He said nothing so far only filmrolls. Then i´ve got about 60+ old negativerolls after a quick check i figure minimum half of them Wiking pics. Probably unpublished.

Here are some quickshots. Altough on the negatives are lots of others who are not printed.Only problem is the negatives are hard to phothograph. skalp<div align="center"><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/5/5ff8975d735c0b3658e088e856dbd71cf.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/5/537d8215e19f503d927e53362e896ab5c.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/4/4afb93ea15a3eabf80a5503bb5544fc10.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/3/3697d6570b519bd60d637695644ae89cc.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/5/576ca6abcc6b3d67c52eb893606e20902.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn03.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/3/327f392242d32ebd8b273bfbea1a7deed.jpg" /></p></div>

On request pics from the rings. The skullring is silvercolored and has some stamp inside. In artifical light the ring look more yellowish.Regretfully i cannot make better pics on artifical light.skalp<div align="center"><p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/5/58593dd3d57927711b2d296929f3601bf.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/2/29277a946f1e1137a950fdd4789cb3187.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/2/2c73c6ac1714684a85171e009f5d51695.jpg" /></p><p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/10000/9995/1/1e14726de8fe22844fa0c7fd27e830c18.jpg" /></p></div>

A post below includes a History of the 2./SS-Signal Battalion 5 Wiking. So it makes sense that the photo in the most recently shown batch of photos, which shows the head and neck of a determined young Untersturmführer, wearing a helmet, is of Günther Schnick. He served in the unit as a platoon commander, and as the battalion's adjutant. He then commanded the Telephone Company in SS-Signal Battalion 11 when the Nordland Division was formed. He finally took command of the entire battalion on April 17, 1945, and was KIA a few days later, east of Berlin.

The above data comes from John Moore's book Signal Officers of the Waffen-SS, which also includes this photo in the Schnick biography.

What a fantastic find! You are very lucky to have acquired such a treasure trove of photo material! Of course I would gladly offer my services to scan all the negatives for a paltry fee - namely just one or two of the film rolls!
In the meantime, I hope to see more!
                Until then...

                  Very appropriate description "Treasure Trove."
