From April 1941 Polizei Btl 305 were involved in guarding, deporting and executing Jews in the area of Kielce & Radom with some of the men used to escort the trains to Auschwitz. They remained in Kielce possibly providing the guard for the outer perimeter of the Ghetto as well as performing 'special tasks'.

Since the mother sent the card to the son, her choice of card is probably not a military dog, but just a postcard picture of a dog. I looked very quickly at the card publisher , who was one of the ones good enough to put a card stock number on it... which is great information for collectors.
I'm curious whether the "H" in the number meant "Hund". If so, then this was probably one postcard from a series of different kinds of dogs. Perhaps the mother chose this one because it resembles a dog that her son had when he was home.

I didn't see anything in the documentation to indicate whether the son is a military dog handler. It is certainly possible, if he had a love for dogs, and his unit surely had a dog unit as part of their operations.
