    Help need with LVF block

Hi - I have a LVF block that is approx. 9.3cm x 11.6cm. It has a Polar bear with a red star on his chest. and: "BLOC DE FRANCISE DU CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE DE LA LEGION DES VOLONTAIRES FRANCAIS CONTRE LE BOLCHEVISME" in Red letters above & below the bear. I was wondering if somebody could recommend a reliable dealer to verify this is genuine (or not) ? I understand it could be worth a LOT if genuine, and squat if not. Thanks

I think this is the issue that you describe:

found on nice summary web page here: http://www.bills-bunker.de/122443.html

Good information is here also: http://axis101.bizland.com/FrenchStamps.htm

Some suggestions on how get an expert opinion:
      http://www.oocities.org/ymlim75/info...ingermany.html

The forgeries were printed from the same plates as the genuine ones, so it takes an expert to determine whether it's a forgery.

As stated above this LVF sheet has been highly reproduced and there are various factors to determine an original from a repro if you know what you are looking for. Below is a link to a list of stamp experts.

Depends how much you pay for the item but the American Philatelic Society can provide you a basic determination for a low cost, however, the German experts are the best for German related material.

Mine looks EXACTLY like the one you posted, EXCEPT there are no perforation dots. In other words it is completely unperforated. But I read in one of the links supplied that they came both ways. I have it posted in the paper forum at Axis History, if you want to see it. But I am not a full member here, ao I can't post it here..
