Need help in Identifying Signature 3rd Pz Div

    Greetings.

I need help in identifying the man who signed this particular EK2 Award Document.

As you can see in the image, it was signed on July 15, 1941.
The individual who received the award was in the 3./Pz. Jäg. Abt. 241

Also, is the abbreviation ".Jäg." in the document consistent with other Panzerjäger documents?
Typically, I have seen the abbreviation to be ".Jg."

    Thanks.

    Hello

Pz. Jäg. Abt. 241 was part of 161. Infantery Division as you can see on the stamp.
From 01/09/1939 till 17/09/1941 Generalleutenant Hermann Wilck was divisioncommander.

    Hope this helps.

      Thanks for the information Jommeke

The document states that the division commander who signed it was a Generalmajor and Wilck was a Generalleutnant , Is this a mistake in the document? or is this seen in other documents?

Wilck wasn't promoted to Generalleutnant until October 1941 so the rank is correct on the citation. I have an EK II citation signed by him in September and he was still using Generalmajor as his rank then.
The abbreviation on the soldiers unit is fine.

Oh, Okay. Thanks for the information!

I couldn't find any information about about Wilck's promotion history. Initial searches always list him
as a Generalleutnant at all dates, but I recently did find that he was indeed promoted to Generalleutnant on Oct 1, 1941.

          Thanks again
