Hi guys ,i have a nice grouping of awards and documents for 1 man.In the set i have awards but no documents.How can i trace his service records to see if these are ment for him.Regards

Ok heres what i have .
2.6.41 war merit cross with swords Oberschutzen Ehinger.
S.I.G.-zug/ Geb.Jag.Ret.143
14.4.42..EK2 Gefr Ehinger
S.J.G. Zug/Geb.Jag.Rgt.143
14.7.42 IAB in silver Obergefreiten Hans Ehinger
Stabskp/G.J.R.143.
With these i have the awards also the Jager cap badge and matching pin badge. The ones i would like to find out and anything else is the Krim shield and the Russian front medal that i got with the outhers.Thanks for your time best regards Pete

As luck would have it, the 6 Gebirgs Division is a speciality of mine.
For certain he qualified for the ostmedaille, but the Krim he most definitely didn't. He doesn't appear in the German wargraves database, so assuming he stayed with his regiment to the end of the war, he would also have received the Lappland shield.
You say jäger cap badge but i assume you mean gebirgsjäger?

Thanks for that.I have had that lot for some years now.The pin i have does look like a vets pin.So we can think he did survive the war.Will have to get a new shield for the frame and move on the Krim.
The KVK does look to be signed by Schorner.
