    Signature A.H. Original

I would like to purchase a card with the signature of Adolf Hitler on it. Now I think the signature looks genuine but I am no specialist at all and the card is not cheap.

As far as my research got me it looks the most like the signature he used during 1944.

    Your opinions are very welcome.

The genuine ones I've seen on postcard are usually in pencil. Is that the experience of you guys too?

In fact there is a Hoffmann postcard showing AH signing a stack of postcards, with a pencil in his hand.

But if this is indeed 1944, there's no telling what his usual practice at that time might have been.

The way the ink has bubbled up on the glossy surface of the card- particularly at the beginning of the letter 'H'- is what makes it suspect to me. Hitler signed thousands upon thousands of postcards and would have known quite well what kind of lead or inks worked best on postcards to avoid producing a messy result.

The combination of 'authenticity may be suspect' and 'price is not cheap' usually means save your money and look elsewhere. That's what I'd do in this case.

The price being asked should be all the proof you need. Good decision in my view.

This appears like a rubber stamp impression of hitlers earlier signature, and would never be in this position , also looks like a copy photo hurridly stamped . Hitlers signature declined as he went through life, and the ravages of meth effected his health among other things(IE: 20th of july attempt ) I agree...crapola, and you may want to look into this persons reputation , just to reinforce caution in dealing with them in the future. Once you find a dealer has been dishonest in his past dealings , they never change, and I always suggest avoiding folks like that altogether, and never patronize them once you know they are a flim flam man.

Thanks gents! and especially for the explanation.

I have decided not to buy the card. I am not really looking for a signature as the prices for these are a bit to much for me. I can buy "tons" of other very interesting German paperwork for it.

Here is an very rare related post card that I have had in my collection for many years.

Published by Hoffmann, it depicts Hitler, with pen, signing a large photo.

I think it would be interesting for everyone to see an example of an signing.
