Help with Sport team photo

Could somebody help me out with this photo? I`m going to be putting it on the e-stand and want to describe it accurately.It`s much more crisp in hand then appears.Thanks in advance.

Reichswehr Badge

This team is wearing the Reichswehr Truppensportabzeichen. This sword and shield badge was the insignia that was in use before the advent of the Wehrmachtsportabzeichen (the Third Reich eagle with swastika sport shirt insignia).

Either football (soccer) or athletics (track). I lean toward football (soccer) because of the shorts they're wearing. But then I lean to athletics (track) when I look at their footwear.

Maybe this is the way they dress for all of their sports activity.
