nice shots Rove, The Bv183 A, B and C models were used for Recon with ability to carry a light bomb load or depth charges, with the final model (converted Recon types) used for mine sweeping. total production was less than 275 of all models, with a range just over 3,100 miles.
The flying clog. I've a soft spot for this aircraft as it was extensively used in North Norway. If i remember correctly, it ran on diesel and in the far north, they conducted operations looking for convoys together with uboats, landing mid-ocean and refuelling from them.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
I have an album from a pilot on BV 138. Stationed most of the time at Skattøra in Tromsø, but also Billefjord in Finnmark. He captured both PQ17 and PQ18 on recon mission.
The best part though, is to see it equipped with what I belive is a Walter HWK 109-500.
Over 30.000 photos from German photo albums, related to Norway
