SS Regt Theodor Eicke EK II Doc

I was a bit concerned about the commander's portion of this document, since the signature includes a line that suggests the dotting of an "i." The words looked like "Baum," which doesn't have an "i" in it, of course. However, I was able to check samples of his handwriting, found in Mark Yerger's Waffen-SS Commanders book 1, and this is indeed Otto Baum's signature.
Baum only served as Totenkopf Division Kommandeur i,V. for one week, during early March, 1944, when Hermann Priess was on leave (information from Yerger's book). We've established in other threads in this section that Iron Cross documents were often signed weeks after the date on them. This is indeed a rare document to have been signed during Baum's brief tenure at this position. Thanks for posting it.
