    SS "KZ" Award Document?

Hello. I need help with a "War Merrit Cross" award document for a SS Rottenführer.
The document was issued on September 1st 1943 for SS Rottenführer Franz Russ, "Böhm. Kamnitz". Böhmisch Kamnitz was an outpost for KZ Flossenburg. According to Wikipedia the outpost was established there in spring 1944 but the award document was issued about 6 month earlier.
Does someone have an idea what SS Rottenführer Russ did there in September 1944?

Please do not copy the photos without my permission!

    Regards

My first instinct is that this citation is abit dubious. It is just a gut feeling but I don't like the way the soldiers rank, name and place sit nicely in a neat little text block. Probably way off the mark but just a first impression.

Hello Hucks. I've got more papers from the soldier. The award document is undoubtly original.

Is there anything else in Böhmisch Kamnitz other than the outpost? That is, is it a town/city? Could be he received the award and it has nothing to do with the KZ.

            best

EDIT: I see it's a small town, thanks to Google.

The doc looks fine to me.

Hello Hank. I've been searching the Internet for the last hour and found the following information:

"In WWII tunnels (galleries) were built into the "Johnsbacher Flur" in Böhmisch Kamnitz under the codename "Zechstein". Inside those tunnels as well as in an old spinning company, "Weser-Flugzeugbau GmbH" from Bremen produced parts for Stukas and probably parts for the "V 1" and "V 2" rockets."

                Finally I found this website:

Perhaps he was a guard there.

                Regards
