Totenkopf EK2 Doc (September 1944) - Help Please!

Hi Everybody,

Please can somebody tell me, does the following designation (as found on an army variant EK2 doc, dated 1 September 1944) make sense:

10. \ SS-Pz. Gren. Rgt. SS Totenkopf "

(this is exactly as it appears on the doc, incl. the speech mark after Totenkopf)

I have only minimal reference material on the make up of the Waffen-SS, and consequently, am lost trying to work this out.

Hi Toby

It makes no sense what so ever. If it's supposed to refer to one of the TK's panzer grenadier units then you'd expect to see something like

10 .\ SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt.5 or 6

What's the rest of the doc like? who's supposed to be the signing officer?

Hello Toby and Simon,

Toby can you provide a scan of the doc? This would help alot. Simon is correct, the doc should have the regimental number.

Just as an aside, repro award docs to the WXX are out there. Unfortunately even docs that are made for reenactors surface on the collection market.
