    Nur Hitler Poster

    Merry Christmas everyone
I hope this is the right place for this, i got this poster, masking tape was on it when i got it with a clear plastic type cover, so my question, without removing the tape and possibly ruining this, is there anyone that can tell if this is legit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,,,Thank You!
    Regards,
    Gary

Can't say if legit however I would not take a chance removing any tape as you know what will happen! If a fake remove away then LOL!!!

Thanks Kevin, it is hard to tell i guess, but it has had the tape, plastic and thin cardboard backing on it a long time, so why do this for a fake?...
Is there any special details to look for you know of?
      Thanks Again.
      Regards,
      Gary

I would say a nice original... although I would have a professional remove the tape for you to avoid destroying it.

Here is a great condition original....

I got the same one, but some said mine was not good, it's made from very strong thick paper, how's yours made Max?

              Hi Patrick,

I think the one you have shown looks way too shiny... very much like the Wallonie posters that have been outed as fakes, that and the paper thickness I believe is not a good sign.....

The one I posted two posts back is not mine but I believe it was a restored original, which exhibits a far more matte finish.. The paper also looks to be the standard thinner type for posters that are to be pasted to walls etc...

Update guys, i got it out of it's shell
Masking tape just kinda disinergrated after pulling on one section that was seperating.
On the edges of the poster it left very little tape residue.
Bottom has a couple small tears, could of been there when it was originally covered up?

And here is the residue, and one of the small tears.
Only the bottom has the tears, plus 3 small holes at the top probably from thumb tacks?

One of three holes, not to bad, i guess?
Gotta be honest though, nervous as hell pulling the tape off

"tearing tape off" brings back bad memories. That is dangerous business with old paper.
For the next time you need to do this:
Check out how to use "lighter fluid/gunk off" and razor blades...has to be an explanation in the conservation forum on how used book sellers do this.
