          I can make out 'on August 6, 1944, he died a heroe's death for the Fatherland...'

          but also interesting why it's not dated until seven months later- in March 1945.

              May be the parents did not actually have enough photographs to sent to friends or they did not know the address of the Professor who could have moved caused by bomb damage of his home or evacuation.

                                Killed in action in Friedfelde in Eastern Prussia in October 1944. He was 18 years old.
