    Sorry that we do not know his family name. So we could have done a better research.

      Hi Gerdan, could be from his brother or sister ... nothing there to indicate which one wrote the dedication, as far as I can see ...

        exactly. I hesitate than I thounght the handwritig could be from a woman, a bit speculative.. I agree with you.

          Good thread Jaques !

          my contribution: a portrait which is with me since I was a teenager, one of my first items I started collecting. I found this picture special somehow, for the words written behind, and I treasure it as a precious item.
