                    Hi André,

Dutch Television (NCRV as far as I remember) did make a documentary about Paulus Potter and Convoy PQ.17, made by Jelte Rep who first wrote a book about it, called : "SOS Paulus Potter".
Interviews with former Paulus Potter crewmembers and crewmembers of U 255, including film footage of U 255 crewmembers climbing aboard the Paulus Potter, the souvenirs they took (and still have) etc etc etc.

I no longer have the book myself, but maybe I still have the film on old VHS.

                    yours friendly

                    23.06.1942 - 15.07.1942
                    Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 23rd Jun 1942, U-255 left Narvik under the command of Reinhart Reche and returned to Narvik on 15th Jul 1942 after just over three weeks on patrol.
Reinhart Reche hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy PQ-17.
                    • On 6th Jul 1942 he sank the American 7,191 ton John Witherspoon, sailing with convoy PQ-17.
                    • On 7th Jul 1942 he sank the American 5,116 ton Alcoa Ranger, a member of convoy PQ-17.
                    • On 8th Jul 1942 he sank the American 6,069 ton Olopana, part of convoy PQ-17.
                    • On 13th Jul 1942 he sank the Dutch 7,168 ton Paulus Potter, from convoy PQ-17.

                        Eric-Jan,

                        Thanks for the info.
It seems to be that M255 meets U-255 after one of his raids in the arctic see.
The emblem on the U-boot is indeed "The Grinning Fox" from Reinhard Reche's U-255.
We can see on te "Abschuswimpel" :
-5116 probably for the "Alcoa Ranger" from PQ-17
-6069 probably for the "Olopana" from PQ-17
The other ones are unreadable for me,but maybe for the other 2 ships from convoi PQ-17.

Many Thanks en groetjes uit Vlaanderen.
