Beutiful and large Luftwaffe shooting certificate

This is on of the most beautiful certificates that I have seen. It's 18" x 13" and was issued to an Obergefreite Wilhelm Weisse for ranking in first place in a light machine gun shooting competition.....unusual:

Thanks Jos! Yours is very nice as well. Great war-time award of a 2nd class marksmanship laynard.

What I liked about mine was the empty battlefield scene, with ruins and barbed wire. That was a nice touch.

I also like the nice handwritings on these things..

I always wonder if they used a kind of thick inkpen for that..?
I can't believe they had kind of markers these days..

Here's a same kind of certificat ,not mine..
The owner once made a copy for me 'cause I liked it.
So ,this one is fake and the pic is bad ,but it's the idea..

              Very colorful though..

              Jos.

                Hi Yuri,

Superb document - thanks for posting.

I've always been drawn to paper items, esp. those with powerful (vibrant / colorful) graphics. Haven't had one like yours myself though.

                All the best,

                Toby.

I've always thought it interesting that the Germans created such elaborate documents for relatively mundane achievements, while using bland, non-descript docs for acts of bravery or difficult qualifications.

I guess that the awards would speak for themselves in such cases. While the posession of a shooting cord was not that profound in comparison.

                      Jos,

I have one like that which you posted. It's still on germanmilitaria site. Once I recieve it and frame it, I will post pictures. It looks great.

And I love these certificates. I especially fond of the shooting award one.
