Excellent. A joy for an "LAH" buff like me!

From a document collectors perspective i find the way the unit is written on the CCC and WB interesting as it's about as wrong as it can get. It's the kind of thing thats useful to document, that a particular unit was doing things a particular way at a particular time.

Had one of those docs turned up on its own i'm sure it would have created some discussion.

The grouping is realy nice, congratulations and txs for showing it!

But Simon is right, the CCC and the WB are fill in very strange.

Simon, you have a point and I also found it interesting that he was awarded the CCC before the EKII but this can also be seen in the photos.

I have a group to an UStuf who from autumn 1944 to
May 1945 served with SS-Pz. Rgt 1 'LSSAH' and who
had been serving with the LAH since mid 1941 in
                  combat engineer units.

This individual got his EK2 and CCCiS only on May 5th
or 6th, 1945, with no CCCiB awarded previously!

I remember that vets of the LAH and later HJ division
told me, that they regarded the CCC more like a
'participation' award than for bravery. Hence to them
the EK, even only the second class was a different
kind of award. Rather for bravery than participating
in close combat days, which you had to anyway,
                  if you wanted or not...

That's why I personally value a CCCiGold award with GCiGold
awarded at the same time higher than a 'simple' CCCiGold
                  for example.

                  Cheers!
                  Markus
