Ernst Barkman - Faked Holocaust ID sold on Ebay

Terrible, just terrible. Ernst Barkmann, one of the great tank aces, degraded to this:

Not sure who the picture is, but it's a terrible Ausweis. And whoever made it for probably less than $5, is now $310 richer.

Yes, The photo of Ernst Barkmann, a Panther tank Ace and Knights Cross winner from "Das Reich," has been afixed to this document.

If yiou look back you will see that nearly $700 was paid for a faked Reinhart Heidrich document like this.

This is just one of many faked ID's from the same seller on eBay. These have been discussed often on this forum.

Well, a jail cell for the creator and seller at least. Not sure I'd execute unknowing buyers/bidders.

I'm just curious, knowing nothing about these kind of documents.

*Other than the photo*, what else about this document tells us that it is a forgery? (i.e. if they'd chosen to use a picture of a completely unknown SS officer rather a well known tank ace).

The "Ausweis" is unquestionably fake.... Unless you have something from your vastly superior collection to prove otherwise.
