Scharnhorst EK2 urkunde - good or bad?

This is on offer to me for 80 euro. Price good? I know I've seen some Urkunde on offer from the more well-known ships draw somewhat higher than normal prices....anything raise any red flags? It looks okay from the picture I received, but would of course appreciate any inputs!

    thanks in advance,
    Hank

I'm not an expert on the Lütjens signature so i can't comment on that but otherwise i think it's a good one. In fact 80€ is a very good price IMHO.

I'd guess this award was for Operation Juno, the sinking of the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious in June of that year.

      A nice find indeed.

        Thanks Simon

Appreciate the input. Didn't really see anything wrong with it - but figured I'd go to the Pro's and ask. I should have it next week, then I can compare it in "real life" to other EK 2 urkunden I have, to see how it feels.

I just noticed Weitze has one identical apart from the recipient up for sale as part of a Scharnhorst grouping.

            Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. They appear to be identical. Pretty cool - - should arrive this week. I'm not particularly a "KM" person, but it's a nice acquisition!

Drontheim and 2. Juli 1940 (also Vizeadmiral...) appears to be stamped rather than typed. Am I correct about it (no problem about being stamped, just a question)?

                Hi Akira -
They look like they're typed - but that's my opinion right now, haven't received it yet. Some of the letters don't line up evenly, as is common on old typewriters. I would think a stamp would be quite symmetrical. I'll try to post better / larger pix when it arrives.

I'd say they were printed by concatinated single-letter stamps. Capital letters are way too wide, and while vertical misalignment is normally seen in typed letters, horizontal misalignment (somewhat proportionally spaced) is not.

I could well be wrong, anyway we have to wait for the arrival of the docs.
